CeBIT 2006: Zeutschel presents digital and analog document archiving

The ArchiveWriter OP 500 converts all digital images and documents to microfilm in highest resolution. Thus it ensures readability of the contents, independent of the technical development of hard- and software. With the ArchiveWriter, Zeutschel addresses particularly organisations, which have to save digital images for long-term archiving additionally on microfilm, e.g. Archives and Libraries, but also Banks, Insurance companies, Authorities, Electricity Supplier and Hospitals.

Compared to the other digital storage media, the microfilm is still the long-term storage media number one. CDs and DVDs remain usually 10 years readable, disks even only five years. The necessity to export data regularly from elder, nearly unreadable storage media to actual media will not be required with microfilm. This will not only save time but also costs. Moreover the digital data media is very susceptible. Only little humidity is sufficient to dissolve the magnetisable coating. And: Also in the hardware the development is proceeding fast so that the technology necessary for reading could be lacking. “For the CeBIT we expect particularly for the ArchiveWriter great interest as with this product we take up an actual theme. How can digital documents be saved for long-term and kept available? The answer from Zeutschel is: on microfilm.”

The high performance color scanner OS 10000 is especially qualified for Libraries and Archives which digitize valuable books, maps and files in large numbers. To scan an original DIN-A1 size with 300 dpi resolutions in full 36 Bit color, the model OS 10000 only needs 10 seconds. The OS 10000TT even scans a DIN-A2 document within half time (also 300 dpi, 36 Bit color). The UV- and IR-free cold light pivots in a focussed light beam over the document. Thus the light load for every pixel is quite minimal.

Also the color scanner OS 8000 3S will be presented at the Hanover fair. It is the specialist for difficult samples with low contrast like hand scripts, streak graphics or etching. An optimal image quality the system achieves with a triple exposure technology with an AREA CCD-sensor, which allows scans without color interpolation.
